That just doesn't sound true.
£2107 for a 12.5 hour shift is £168.56 per hour. Consultant locum rates are around £85 - £100 per hour. Why would you pay a junior doctor that rate when you could just as well employ a consultant at half that rate.
Having done a locum in the past at East Kent hospital, I am aware that the stated rates are impossible to achieve.
Either those numbers are made up or someone in a trust is really really really stupid or drunk.

Think they maybe taking insurance, employers tax, clothing and meds into account on those figure. If a doctor is required at short notice agencies charge anything the want.
