Title: cd changer not playing cd,s

just tried the multi changer in my old mig to see if it works the cartrige goes in to the unit and you can hear the discs moving about but when you press cd on the head unit it shows cd error
could it need cleaning i dont think its been used for a while if ever
n reg with original radio (sc804 cdc) multi changer is marked dc012  :-[
any ideas before i bin it thanks

Phillips unit. Probably shagged laser.

are you using pre- recorded cd's or your own made ones?

all 6 are propper original cd,s wont play any of them
