Title: Pay as you go 3G SIM cards -PINless?
Post by: Varche on 09 April 2013, 14:31:21
Been looking at this SIM to stick in a spare dongle in my Zoom 4506 travel router when I next visit the UK to create a WiFi hotspot.

Question is this, do pay as you go SIM cards have a PIN? If they do that will be an issue as I won't have access to a PC to configure the router!

I think the default pin if they have one at all is 0000 or else 000

If it has a PIN, shove it in a phone and remove the PIN from the phone's menu.

I know GiffGaff SIMs are pinless from the factory (if you go for GiffGaff, PM Taxi Driver for a SIM - he'll get a fiver, you'll get an additional fiver credit when you top up with your first tenner).

(Jack all other than O2 works around here, so I tend to only use GiffGaff now). My works Voda came with a PIN. My old O2 came with a PIN.
