Good news perhaps ??

Let's hope so. Thumbs up to that ;) :y

I've never understood how they were losing so much. Every other car on the road is an astra or corsa.

But Mundanos are more common (as are focus and fifi in their classes)

Not impressed with most of what they produce though, Insignia feels too small and dark inside, with rock hard seats. (sat in one never driven, maybe my view would change :-\) - Also never sat in Elite version, would have hoped seats would be better in that. :-\
Never liked Corsa, learned in C shape.
Monaro/VXR8 are nice, but not Europe Opel though.
Quite like latest Fords to be honest. Current Mondeo is very nice, Galaxy was very impressive too from a passenger perspective. Smoother than Omega even :o

It's good news, however, they've got to up their game, the Mondeo for example is miles better than the Insignia. Although I do think the Astra & Corsa are better than the Focus & Fiesta. They've stopped making the Astra Van too, which is a big thumbs down for me.

Seats are hard compared to Omega. But I had no issues driving from here to beyond Carcasonne and back over a fornight. Well over 2k. Remember, I'd not that long screwed my back (again) in that accident. I was pleasantly surprised by it once a) I'd loosened up the engine a bit, b) we'd slapped some new pads on it after getting 500 miles into journey and runnign out of pad ;D
My fellow convoy driver was in his Morgan, so when off the main roads, it took some effort to "have some fun" ::), but the base model diesel Insignia did not disgrace itself.

High praise indeed :y
Would you by one though :-\

I looked at this car a couple of years ago and felt the same, was driving an Omega at the time, having sat in the Insignia felt that going back to the Omega was much more comfortable..... ;)

Mrs AA has a bad back, always found the Omega seats did not help.
She's had no problems with the Insignia over a 4 hour journey, in the Omega we used to have to stop every hour for her to get out and stretch her back.

The article seems to concentrate on Opel and Vauxhall is only mention in the title, although it is classed as a subsiduary of Opel. I wonder if any investment will come in £ Sterling to EllesmerePort and Luton

Ellesmere Port is going to build the 2015 astra, so you could call that investment. I don't think Vauxhall are doing so badly in the UK, it's those pesky, unproductive Germans that are at fault. ;D
