On a 06 plate 1.9 TD (i think) pug 407.....
It had its cambelt changed (dunno if chain or belt)
Then it refused to start..........
Got recovered from one garage that did the cambelt work to my local garage i use.....coz owner wasnt happy that it had sat for 6 weeks in 1st garage without prob being resolved......
My local garage after stripping engine down has found the top of the valves were all scored (not bent or anything, which you might expect if timing was miles out on the timing) just scored ends......
So its now having all new valves and camshaft........
But what would cause this??? I did ask.......but owner is away on hols...and techie working on the engine didnt know......just said boss wanted em changed........
And is changing em gonna fix the non starting?? :-/

Lack of oil or oil pressure ?
-
There maybe summat in that :y........coz apparently the 1st garage was supposed to have changed the oil in it when they had it........but when i was local garage today they dropped the oil out of it.........it was black........that hadnt been changed recently........
Incidently had my oil changed in my Omega today (the reason i was at the garage)........the old oil came out bronzey colour...... :y
Dont ask how long its been in there for :-X ::)

Could be the first garage that did the cambelt didn't time it properly.

Thats what i thought originally ........but the techie showed the valves he'd taken out........not bent as you would expect......just scored on the ends.....camshaft end. :-/

Oil starvation I would say....but I thought they were shimmed!
Have they not fitted any shims?
