well i've just perused the "how toos" and drawn a blank,does anyone have a schematic as such for what vacuum line goes where on the 3l v6? :-[

Yup, as per Symes link :)
Basically, with yours being the later setup (IIRC):
One outlet on the main vac pipe (Plenum to servo) goes to the SIA valve near the radiator/battery.
Other outlet, via a T piece, goes to both of the vac tanks - one mounted near pollen filter, other at the bottom of the bagpipes on the inlet. Vac tanks have 1 way valves, so can maintain a vac, even when the inlet vac is low.
Vac tank by pollen filter feeds the heating control in the cabin (which subsequently feeds the HBV back in engine bay).
Vac tank on bagpipes feeds both multirams.
