Hi all,
Just had a question about luggage capacity.
Does anyone know the capacity of the saloon vs the estate but only the boot area.
Also how does this compare to say the mercedes e300 estate?
Thanks :)

I can't compare it to an E-class, but an Omega estate has much more space than an E34 BMW estate. It has a higher roof line, lower floor, squarer opening, wider gap between the wheelarches and the tailgate doesn't slope. Plus, the rear seats fold completely flat. It's a much more usable car.
Here are a couple of examples: my mig welder's handle rubbed the roof lining of the BMW, once I'd wrestled it into the car; it has to be tied down in the Omega. When moving engines, it wasn't possible to crane them into the BMW, as there simply wasn't enough height. When we collected the 3.0l V6 for my Standard, it went into the Omega complete with the gearbox still attached. There is no way I could have got the back half of a beachbuggy body in the BMW, it went into the Omega with just a little bit of jiggling. I have a pic somewhere if it would help!

Believe the saloon is around 500 ltrs, and the estate is 540 up to the window line :y
W210 ('96-'03) E class saloon is 520 ltrs, estate is also 540, again to the roof line :y
