Not planning on needing any paint.

Can't fault you there with the choice. LWB Vitara would have been slightly better.

I am constantly amazed at how simple they are. Pollen filter what is that? Airbags, what are they? Blipper Central locking what is that? Memory seats, memory mirrors, tinted glass, cruise control etc etc

Wait till you are stuck at a Music festival (Download?) or in an olive grove. Then just watch it power away from your fellow (luxury) Omega driver. ;D ;D ;D

they nip along quite nicely steve and fuel econamy is not too bad about 25 -30 round town and 35-40 on a run but quite low geared  the one i had was better than the shogun derv i had before it  that did 17 to the gallon on a run
which was worse than a fange rover

Been thinking about this....lots. It's not the car I originally went to look at, that was sub-par. When I test drove the Suzi, the salesman assured me that it was not permanent four wheel drive. It is. The camshaft is chain driven, will last forever if serviced properly. This says 'partial history' which, according to the forums is not good.
So...I'm getting a car which doesn't handle very well but is great off-road, that I didn't really choose, with dodgy history and, to rub salt in the wounds, will cost a lot more in fuel, tax and insurance. Oh, and I've never driven on the pavement, never mind off-road.

Guess who I'm calling in the morning? I'll loses my £200 deposit, but no way round that one. ;D

If the Salesmans 'Speil' was inaccurate and formed a material reason in your decision to buy the vehicle, then surely you are entitled to return the vehicle without losing your deposit Steve :-\
Methinks Trading Standards need to be involved.

Suppose I could, Del. Doubt I'd get anywhere though. It says 'non-returnable' and I think they'd dig their heels in. They have taxed it at £280, but I think they'll get that back.
What I can do is transfer the deposit to another car, but I'm not rushing into anything... at my age. ;D

They'll dig their heels in, however it's also known by trading standards that if you pull out of the deal because something isn't as described, you're entitled to your money back. If however you've just changed your mind, you can't ask for it back. Although the car isn't as described, and that played a part in your decision, hence you want your deposit back  :y.

its called misrepresentation think the act is 1979 (date) but its your word against thiers

after a year of trying to get the right seat in my movano i thought i would put a little note on pentagons face book page immediate reaction. Bell ends already told them i was trading the van and sueing for the loss now a year later and 30 emails they want to do something about it. pigs may fly me thinks
£19k for a van and they argue over a £400 bloody seat

different position with replacement van brought on line you get 7 days to cancel contract so i did today and wow they cant do enough for me now £1000 spray bill probably winging its way to them.waiting to written confirmation today or the vans going back up t north like

if your not happy about the motor you better off loosing £200 and not collecting it rather than try and argue about it later hope you are lucky and get the money back maybe go on thier face book site :y

Just had call back. Salesman apologised, even though he wasn't sure that he had misinformed me ::). My word against his, I guess. Anyways, he tried his best, bless him, but I wouldn't budge even when money started coming off the price. So they will take my deposit off any other vehicle I might be interested in. I said I'd get back to them.
