Post by: Webby the Bear on 14 April 2013, 11:48:31
Thanks mate for coming up and sorting my car out.

Martin found a big exhaust leak  :o :o :o luckily its in the EGR pipe and not the manifold.  :y

So can someone sell me the EGR pipe?  ::) :y please. :y

I blame it on that gixer bloke, as he's no longer here to defend himself

It happened when plenum was removed for LPG work...

I do remember doing up the pipe and thinking ''hmmm that moved a bit more than it usually does''. Wonder if I perhaps tightened too far as I am, unintentionally, a ham fisted barsteward  :-[

Easily done mate , i broke quite a few things not knowing how they came apart , usually plastic fasteners  >:( those stupid pop in things in the wheel arch liner being very annoying  ::) Still at least you have found the problem now and it can be sorted , try the breakers  ;)

It'll blow straight off.

I did toy with going to scappies later, but can't remember what time they close...

Well the car runs sweet due to the temporary exhaust paste fix. cant wait to get that off and replace it with good part. then at least ill know all engine work is done..... for now  ::) can then concentrate on little bits inside that need swapping out. then in the summer.... bodywork  ::)

anyway, that bottom nut on the EGR pipe... when I get it off to replace with tigers new part.... martin mentioned I needed a tap wrench. is that the same as a ''crows foot spanner''? cant see me getting a normal wrench down there. or a socket.

and is it 24mm like the top nut?

cheers gays... I mean guys  :y
