Title: Coil pack / Oil question
Post by: omegod on 15 April 2013, 17:08:53
Anyone ever rescued 2.6/3.2 coil packs after they have been bathed in oil from the rocker gaskets leaking or are they definatly toast?

You could renew the boots parts, but TBH, the coil pack itself is likely on last legs, esp if there is any sign of cracking/rust/swelling around the coils themselves

The coil packs on my 2.6 estate were drowning in oil when I got the car.I cleaned/dried them then inspected them.No signs of cracking or rust so I put them back on the car and it ran fine. ;)

Try it on a small area first - some switch cleaners have solvents that may not like the rubber bits :)
