Considering selling my 2.5 GLS Auto Salon
1999 V Plate
Car is Silver and fitted with a Towbar (Twin Electrics)
Current Mileage is coming up to 63,000 (62,800 ish at the mo I think)
Mot History
04/11/2002 30999
07/11/2003 39673
12/11/2004 49017
13/09/2005 54222
18/08/2006 57247
19/09/2007 61541
62800
46466 Miles, Cam Belt (dealer Fitted)
Had Radio/Cassette upgraded to Radio?CD (CDR500 I think)
Starts 1st time, runs like a dream.
Whats it worth. will be valeting it next week to take some piccies.
-
Jusrt to add, am only selling due to getting an Elite this week if all goes well.
-
is it pre-facelift?
cambelt will be due again very soon, even with low mileage you'll be looking at a low figure
-
Honestly, in this economic climate, I would say around £500-£700, but stick it in the Autotrader at £995 and see what happens. Many people will pay more for a low mileage example
It is the lower spec model and is due a cambelt change (4 years).
-
cambelt is due now based on 4 years since last. Not many may realise that though.
low mileage is attractive, but lowish spec saloon not in its favour
MOT? (essential to achieve any money)
facelift/pre-fl?
-
no more than 1k
-
I'd go with LB's suggestion.
Its low miles and a good history (notwithstanding cambelt). Autotrader is the place - less than a tenner I think for sub £1k, on line ads. Avoid ebay in my opinion - you'll just get bargain hunters, and fees are much higher.

Looks like I am on for my new car.
GLS will be getting a once over next week.
I know it requires at least a back box which I have one ready to fit.
It needs a mini valet due to me dripping some gravy on the passenger seat.(forgot to put some paper under the chips and gravy)
1999 V Plate, current mileage is 62989 so maybe add 100/150 during the week max.
Recent Avon ZV3's all round plus spare (dunno brand, used for 11 miles)
Tested till September.
Tested 19/09/2007 61541 miles
Cars done 1448 miles since September.
No tax to pass on (Disabled)
I was going to put the car in the Autototrader for £1295 but take on the feedback regards the cambelt.
Nice car, shame it as to go, low mileage. Leather trim and cappings would make this car for the sake of spemding £100 and some time fitting it.
Any one interested please PM for more details.

...visions of you managing a roast dinner as you're driving along...

I agree with earlier comments, so be prepared to drop your price to £1,000 or even less to sell. :y
I recently bought my 2000 (W) 2.5 CDX auto with full DEALER service history, years MOT, all new brakes, tyres, exhaust, and everything fully working, 104k, from a dealer for £2000 after knocking him down from £2495, but I REALLY wanted this immaculate car and I KNOW that I paid too much!
So don't expect to be lucky and find a buyer like me in this time of significantly rising road tax and petrol prices! Not everyone likes 'big' motors like Omega's! :'(:y

may have paid a little over the current selling prices, but it looks like you'll save quite a bit over the next couple of years on the maintainence side since you wont be needing new tyres or new exhaust for a good while
-
Unfortunatly in todays climate no body has any money and big cars are going for pennies great for you when you buy your elite though just look at it that way. :y

Thanks Danny for this reassurance, and backing up how I looked at it (there is a six month 'silver' warranty on it as well) but I have not convinced myself yet that I couldn't have got it for a bit less! It seemed right at the time, and in many ways still does; it is a fabulous motor (except for a dodgy sun roof control box - £500+ worth including motor) which the dealer is sorting out under warranty! :y

Been laid up in bed a lot so on the occasions I have got out I didnt get round to checking the car out at all.
Ran it through the carwash today and this is what emerged, the car wash manager was doing a little offer, one or the other plus a car wash. Options were triple foam through the wash or an Air Freshner of my choice and the tyres slicked. So as II had the camera with me then I opted for the tyre trim.
Sadly it looks like it has flicked some of the rubber dressing up on landed on the lower rear bumper and there looks like he has dripped some down the bottom of the drivers dooe.
Mileage shown was taken as I pulled up at home.

Not valeted, not even had a polish. :D
-
It's very tidy but it's still the poverty spec model.
Up here in Scotland you would struggle to £500-600 quid.
I'm about to sell my CDX with leather and FSH and I don't think I'll get £600 for it :(

Whats the mileage on yours Jules?
