Title: Few bits to the workhorse
Post by: iansoutham on 20 April 2013, 20:39:07
Thought I'd give the old girl a good clean up this month as I've had her 3 months and done over 5000 miles in that time.

As I purchased her in January

Once cleaned of the dirt, body condition could be seen properly

Excellent polishing/buffing skills there.

How well does the Spoiler fit? I know some aftermarket spoilers sometimes need fettling to fit, It looks really nice. I'd like to get one for the Estate.

Cheers, Mark.

Spoiler fits perfectly, it should do, it was designed by ProDrive to fit the estate models. Just take your time masking and lining up, scotch pad the paint and wipe with IPA to make sure it is clean and away you go. I used Sikaflex 221 adhesive, and it started to bond within a minute and was perfect after being left overnight.

There is a seller with about 5 left for £50 plus postage. Mine was with me within 48 hours of paying, and in the original box as well

Thanks Ian, just had a look on ebay.....says 'last one' now. eeeek!!

Will keep my eye on it (if it goes hopefully the seller will re-stock)

Bro-in-law works in the trade too so I can get hold of the bonding agent, scotch pads, and get it painted.

Thanks again.  :y

It looks like 3M stuff, widely used by detailers and I think decorators.
It has a low 'tack' or adhesion making it perfect for these sorts of jobs as there is no residue or damage on removal of the tape  :y
