Doubtful that can be done so quick with more modern cars with all the electrics and what not in them ::)
-
Pretty impressive show by the Booties but 5 tanked up Matelots could do it far quicker! ;D
-
One guy to cut the elastic band holding it in and 4 to lift it out - impressive if they had to disconnect things first!!
We thought we were fast on my old Cooper S 1293 racer - 15 mins to have engine & box out, 2 people, and the same to refit it. There again the lump was in & out regularly, so no seized bolts etc and all electrics plugged.

:o :o :o thats a record without doubt.. :y
but I wouldnt try that with an omega ;D
-
4 pot no problem ;D
-
If they had waited another 18 seconds the rust would have eaten the mounts and slam panel,
Then just lift out.. Simples ;D ;D ;D

Some time ago we pulled the running, driving 1600 xflow out of a mk1 Escort; removed the 1100 sump; knocked clearance for the longer crank throws in it; refitted everything and drove to the pub. Took less than 45 minutes. All done in the street, lifting the engine in and out with a rope and scaffold pole.

I would love to see the list of how it all was modified to enable it to happen so quicky!
No fuel lines im guessing, just ran from the fuel in the float chamber???

Not sure it'll go back in quite so easily :-X ;D

The old Beetles were quick. Only 4 bolts holding the lump to the transmission, then fuel, electrics, and heater connections. About 45 minutes single handed to have it on the bench. :y
