had my glowplugs changed today (wished youd never bloody touched something!), 3 of them come out no bother, the 1st one was left in as it just kept turning in the hole, it has made a huge difference just with the 3 of them re-newed, i was happy to leave it like this but now the management light is coming on and i susspect its due to a snapped plug, what options is there to remove this without removing head, i would rather they were all working as they should anyway, i know of a vec the exact same, all 3 come out no bother except for that first one.
cheers

It's a common problem and will need the head removing to sort :'(

It does look good but I would want to be sure its of good quality, wouldn't want the grief of trying to remove a snapped bit from the glow plug hole ::)

im starting to think EML yesterday was just a coincidence as i havent seen it today and just had about a 70 mile run earlier, spoke to a vaux technician earlier who highly recomended an engineer up in perth, 30 miles up the road from me, went to see him after work, showed him the job and he would be more than happy to carry out the removal procedure and refit new plug for me (without removing head) second nature to him apparently as hes done it for years, he was kind enough to talk me through the procedure and showing me broken plugs he has removed over the years, ferrari use him aswell so i think i would be confident enough letting him do it, he also added wait and see if it gives you any trouble first as the warmer weathers starting and it will be fine on 3 plugs, allthough would be beneficial having the 4 of them working when winter arrives.

As a tip, remove glow plugs with the engine HOT.
Its also worth using a good penetrating fluid (e.g. NOT WD40 which is not even as good as human piss as a penetrant).

I use torque wrench set up at 30 NM when undo them so I know if this will be an easy job or drill out

i will most likely get the broken one drilled out and when fixed i will not touch the buggers again! ;D
