Title: Tyre Changing
Post by: Auto Addict on 08 November 2006, 18:36:55
Decided to change the last of the original tyres today on my Omega, although it was still legal, with the winter drawing nigh I wanted to play safe.

The tyre source will be revealed later.........

Well I've just had 2 changed today and I'm sure there was only 1 of him, unless the guy who owns the firm chatting to him counts too, and I did hand him the locking nut and the wife was stood around playing with her phone, so better change it to 4.  ;D

Techie removes wheel.

Lacky takes tyre off.

Lacky puts new tyre on.

Tyre won't seal.

Lacky fetches techie.

Techie and lackie have a go.

Another techie turns up, new techie has a go.

1st techie and 2nd techie have a go together.

Body shop manager passes by.

1st techie, 2nd techie and body shop manager have a go.

Lacky fetches parts manager.

Parts manager, body shop manager, 1st techie and 2nd techie have a go.

Service manager turns up.

Yes, you've guessed, service manager, parts manager, body shop manager, 1st and 2nd techies have a go.

3rd techie arrives with a rope, wraps round tread of tyre, twists it with a bar, tyre won't seal.

Came home with original tyre - 2 hours later.

You are changing them one at a time? I always go for sets of four, even if not all four are down to the limit, to make sure the car is balanced and has the same tread on all four corners  :o
