Hi all,
I've noticed that whens its raining heavily or there are puddles/standing water that the horn doesent work anymore and I think it is because of its position so low down that it gets wet and then when it drys out it works again.
Is there anything I can do to protect it?
Wrap some plastic around the connectors to stop them from getting wet?
Thanks

or water repellant spray ?

Sounds stoopid ::), but are they still there? The strip of metal that bolts to the bracket tends to crack across the bolt hole, resulting on the horns dragging along the road. Wouldn't take much of a puddle to rip them off :-\
Also check the seals on the plugs are intact :y

Are you certain the water alone is causing the issue ?
Given the sounder itself will be designed to withstand the wet,
I think the horn has its own switched earth, I would check the connectors to ensure no cracks or loose connections allowing the water into a relay that way :y

Probably find that the plug terminals are corroded beyond repair.
If so ............... Cut the plug off the horn, cut the cable back 10mm or so, so you can see fresh copper and crimp it up.
If you can get your hands on any heatshrink then protect the crimps with that.
If not, mummy fie with electrical tape and wrap up in a poly bag too :y
