Title: Astra H - 17. CDTi: Headgasket?
Post by: tunnie on 27 April 2013, 17:23:03
Next door from my parents have an Astra H 1.7 CDTi, its loosing coolant, on a drive to Banbury and back looses maybe half a cup? About a finger or two's worth from the tank, they have had it at a "specialist" which had it all day, they said they could find no coolant leak so saying its head gasket!

Its got 170k miles so fair few under it, I could not see a HBV or anything similar, only the big coolant pipe from the rad into the block, appeared to be weaping:

That be the course, not sure what these 1.7 CDTi engines are like  :-\

Balls forgot to check coolant, from external view it looked clear, but did not inspect it. Will check  :y
