So came back last night with aim of fixing MotherT's car, had a call from her last week to say it EML was on. Ran fine though according to her.

A nice little fat admin popped over that evening to find it miss-firing nicely and a very broken HT lead.  ::)

So today replaced feked HT lead (clearly failed had split big style, TB confirmed mini fireworks), fresh plug in. Due to job list longer than my arm, I stopped short of replacing all of them. Put it all back together, same problem :'(

Ok so maybe DIS pack failed too, attempted to replace that. D'oh, no E10 socket, so over to the fat admins. Nicked his, on the way back hit a speed bump at around 10mph as usual, had windows down as it was nice and sunny hear a huge bang, then metallic sounds from underneath my 2.2  :'(

First thought was heat shield, but nope. Further inspections showed the exhaust flexi has let go in quite a large way, I had noticed it starting to frey few months earlier.

Then inspect and DIS pack on MotherT's all fine, (see other Thread in  Gen car Chat) - Looking more and more terminal there.

So my 2.2 is out of action for a while & it looks like the 3.0 is dead  :'(

Least the lawn mower started ok  ;D

Loads of life in that yet , get a bandage and putty around it  ;D

-
Need to put some tin foil around it, see if it blows that out too. 2 year old ETS exhaust so should not be blocked  :-\

Has TuBy learned how to use that mig set yet?

 Cheers  :y

Luckily I've got my 3.2 Elite, which has had limited use recently. Used it to day, fek me petrol is expensive  :o :o :o

I put in half a tank of petrol in the 2.2 in Austria in January, I've still got nearly half a tank in that. Today I used a quarter tank  in the 3.2 already  :o  ;D ;D  :(

Well ordered a replacement today, good job they are nice and cheap!  :)

Pattern one lasted approx 60k odd, GM one did not last much longer, so not too bad.
