Title: GEARBOX problem

I drive omega 2.5dti - Y25DT BMW engine with automatic gearbox which is broken and it is too expensive to repair it.
Is it possible to replace automatic gearbox for manual from omega 2.5td with X25TD engine or any other idea which manual gearbox can replace my broken automatic gearbox??

Please help me...

There are guides there to describe why the standard autobox isn't really strong enough for the BMW engine and how to swap it for a stronger gearbox (auto or manual) from a 3 litre car.

Lots of cars are being scrapped that have perfectly good gearboxes in them. Have a read through the parts for sale section. If you cannot find what you want there then post a 'wanted' post in the Test section and ask politely to have an admin move it to the 'wanted' section

Is your car an Opel with a 5 speed automatic gearbox? Vauxhall never sold that combination in the UK.

The manual gearbox you want is either an R28 (3.0 V6) or R30 (3.2 V6) but you will need a bellhousing with the BMW bolt pattern so easiest to get a gearbox straight from a scrap X25DT.

be cheaper to collect it,or deliver it, ROADTRIP :)

I thought the Y25DT engine was mated to a 5 speed 5L40E auto gearbox (a combination we didn't get in UK)

maybe it s possible to solve a problem.
-If I put car in P-park position (the car moves forward)
-If I put car in D-the car moves forward
If I put R-the car moves forward

I can drive it but gearbox change gears very difficult in very high revs..

Can I repair it:)?

Any idea??
