Taking off a wheel today and managed to break the socket for taking out the lock nut. Is it possible to buy a replacement one and where should I be looking. Was going to bring it into halfords tomorrow see if they could match it, can any motor factors match it?
-
Is it a genuine Vx one?
-
Ask nicely at a tyre fitting place, they'll have something like these

my local tyre shop charged me £5 for getting all four lock nuts off following me misplacing my lock nut key thingy.
then just replace with standard nuts....but I left four plastic covers on and one not covered so it looks like I have a lock nut to the casual eye :y

Not sure which type it is, took some pics if that helps identify it.

Thats GM, dealer only. Think you need the code for it.
Treat these GM ones with respect (no impact guns, not slipping) as they are made of chocolate

I was only using it on a wheel brace! :( Must lay off the weetabix! If I take it in they can surely match it, any idea of cost?
-
£25 last time I got one from VX, you may be able to buy a used one off the bay if you still have the code for it!
-
What code is it I need or where do I find it?

I have VX ones on mine . The code is printed in the lid of the nice little plastic box they came in . not much help if you don't have that though :-\ :-\ :-\

Hmmm, fraid not. The socket was in the glove box when I bought the car. Will phone vauxhall in the morning see what they can do for me. Might just get the lock nuts taken out and put normal nuts in

I think I have one at home, and thought I could check to see if it was similar.
Didn't realise they were coded though :-\

If you dont have code card for nuts, they have a master set at most gm dealers, they will charge you for removing them, also take id etc.
try to locate the wheel key into the nut, attach socket and bar then get assistant to tap bar as you try to undo.
looking at photo its the sleeve thats split not the lock.

No lock part damaged as well - but you may be lucky ;)
I've got a brand new key here (I'll look for code and post it up - cost £35) - don't need it now as I've done away with lockers on the Estate. Does look very similar to yours.

Thanks Dbug but its only £15 to get them removed at tyre depot and Vx will replace the socket for £20. Might just get them removed and be done with it, cant imagine anyone will want to steal omega cd alloys anymore

Eye all sorted then. :)

Sorry mate - meant it cost me £35, not what I would sell it for :-[

No problem dbug, might have sourced a used socket anyway, will find out more tomorrow
