Title: 30.1 MPG
Post by: 05omegav6 on 20 May 2013, 07:59:21
Over 150 miles and a third of a tank 8)

That was cruising along at 66 mph though ::) Nottingham is quite a bit further north than Watford, that's for sure ;D

Only time I've seen 30mpg was travelling to Gatwick at a steady 65mph for most of the journey.  :)
On the early hours return journey I had no passengers but the mpg reduced to 18mpg for some strange reason.  :-X :-X ;)

Mine should be better on a run having a proper gearbox and all ::) but it's currently running cold with a stuck thermostat  ::) 75° on the gauge :-\

Does the economy no favours at all :-X

I managed 30mpg coming back from Taffland, along M4/A34 a couple of years back in the 3.2 Elite. 4 adults, full luggage, no pikey box. Apart from a moment of frustration on the A34, it was a constant 80mph all the way.

The superior 3.0l in my MV6 once managed 32.5mpg over a 2 week holiday to Montpellier. That included some very high speed runs, and poncing about around the area.

None too sure at present what my Elite will do on a proper run,but will find out in a couple of weeks when we have a drive from Scunny to Farnham for a christening. It'll be interesting to compare it to what the XJ does on same trip.

That's not special ::) if the EML isn't on then you either have a blown bulb or something is seriously amiss with your car.

Decent fuel and a king good thrashing should sort it, if not you really aren't trying ;D

Going slowly on the most part as well but I'd only just reset the computer after putting new battery in it..

EML is on, shining nice and bright.  Codes prove lambda's not being happy with the readings.

Give me a 3.0 anyday :(

To be fair though, this thing really does shift (comparable to my 3.5 V8 BMW (Which is lighter))
