Any one watched it? One poor 21 yr old girl with 5 kids is having to manage on £1600 a month. And she gets her rent said too. Don't know how she copes!
-
I had too make sure I didn't watch it as the blood pressure would have reached an unhealthy level.
-
I really despair at the utter stupidity of the System! :'(
-
Watching on 4+ to much like work for me, not quite so much now, but used to deal with this sort of family daily........ ;):-X :-X :-X
-
Must be hard for them to be honest. For example, the electricity bill must be crippling, when you consider the 52" Plasma and numerous laptops on all the time. :'(
-
No idea what the answer is though.

Just said the same to swmbo..... Don't forget the chav gear, the dog, fags, booze and maybe drugs - recreational of course, that seem to be the norm, oh and then the Kid's - I can say that because I know......... ;) ;)
-
just started to watch it on 4demand,and WTF!!! were paying for people like, had to turn it off, blood pressure raising way to fast.

Well years ago society condoned the taking away of bast$rds and in some cases sent the poor women off to penal colonies (Australia). I am not condoning that or the wretched(and it was really wretched) lives the children had in homes run by nuns.
Return of the valued family unit? Compulsary sterilisation after third child? Just accept that this is how some people will be now we have a civilised society with generous benefits for those that choose that way of life? Maybe it is just a stage in the fall of an empire. Like the Romans went to greatness and then just fell.
Whatever , I blame it all on the parents.

Makes me sick really, £1.6k? With no major bills like rent? >:(
No idea what the answer is though.
A cull? ::)
-
It frustarted the shit out of me, when you get them moaning that the request for extra benefits was rejected and then others who sit there saying we have no money when next to them is an I-phone, cigerettes, empty lager can and in front of them a 46inch TV....
-
Avoided on purpose.
Sounds like I made the right choice.......................now where is my hammer :D :D

Although certainly no role model, this woman was one of the better ones in my opinion.
The 16 year old girl (who had her child taken from her by social services) really needs to get her act together. Her boyfriend ( the hoody) and the father of her child was about as much use as a used durex. :-\

I imagine that most of the people from this estate go about their business in the normal way, the same as you or I. However, the documentary film crew can't resist the temptation of good viewing figures by going for the 'gobby mare' who always wanted to be on television. :-\
-
Did you see her empty the vacuum cleaner out of the bedroom window ;D ;D ;D ;D She was proper posh ;D ;D

The street where my MIL lives is what i would call an average street. council houses. some bought some tenanted.
Next door is a woman who has never worked, apart from labour, has a house full of kids some of which now have their own children. None work. Not a father to be seen. Nice car in the mud outside. One night MIL couldn't sleep and looked out of the window at 4a.m. to see one of the girls(15) sneaking back from a house over the road. It is a way of life.

anyone can get benefit. get mine from ALDI £1.49 a box :-[

Sorry all, but I thought threads like this were considered not to be right for this Forum. Too political, too open to heated debate that deteriorates into rants as it winds people up.
TB and Ht21 felt, I believe, (in my words) these threads were just too depressing, boring, and potentially highly contentious.
What has changed? ::) ::) ::) ::)
I have deliberately not posted or entered into any thread that is possibly meeting the above criteria.
Has all that changed now after some members left? If so, why? ??? ??? ??? ???

I wouldn't have thought that the subject was that contentious, Lizzie. ;) :-* :-* :-*

The subject about benefits should not be Opti, but there are some in our community who make this a contentious issue with unnecessary comment and assumptions made, that start to stir resentment in some, and a feeling of hopelessness of others who have to survive on state handouts.
This is a sensitive political issue, and is guaranteed to attract argument and counter-argument as in the past. Do we want to risk that on the "New Feel OOF" ?
If yes, then I will again commence political debate starting with UKIP!
But I don't think the admins want this. Do we? ??? ??? ??? ??? That is an open question :) :)

Lizzie until the guidelines are specific about what is and ls not "acceptable" it is only the moderators that can interject in this manor IMO.
I have always looked forward to and enjoyed your posts on here. Please do not take this as a personal attack on you.

That's fine Phil. No problems from my point of view :y :y :y :y :y :y
I have only raised this as it was only a very short time ago the admins seemed to go overboard in making sure we all appreciated their feelings, and how if things did not change the OOF could go.
But now various threads are appearing again that certainly touch on political thought and invite counter-arguments that could go pear shaped, as the admins fear.
I personally want to know where we all stand after all that previous discussion and "voting" so I know what I can post or not. It is somebody else's Forum after all. ;) ;)

Post what you want IMO - I certainly will not be told what I can or cannot post on this forum or any other. I am not above the 'law' but I post what I feel will be acceptable to the masses. Common sense really. :-\
