Just bought a 2004 3.2V6 GSi Vectra for £1690 in Black. Anybody got any thoughts on this? Had 2 x Omega 2.5 V6's in manual and CDX. One was pre facelift present one is facelift. Had a little test drive and the car feels awesome. Need to save up to get it LPG'd, hopefully using the Stag300 kit off of the omega, Just need to find someone willing to take it off omega and transplant to the Vectra ;D ;D

Fast in a straight line, but shite in the corners ;D

Especially in the wet on roundabouts as a friend of mine found out :)
But in general a nice motor :y

I can't see it being any worse than my Omega on roundabouts and in the wet. My car is so unbelievably tail happy with only medium throttle. Although it is more fun with the RWD ;D

Do not under estimate how utterly shite that chassis is. Its not good enough for a 100bhp DTi engine, so you can imagine the consequences of 210bhp at the front wheels.
It needs really soft tyres. A whole heap of fun in a straight line, if you don't mind other cars beating you from the lights, but woeful in the corners, with understeer you could not believe. Prone to (unpredictable) lift-off oversteer as well.
More economical than the 3.2 Omega, and a little bit quicker in a straight line once you've got traction.
GSi suspension is a killer, though, springs replaced with solid rods I think ;D. Even making it this stiff doesn't help with using the power :(
Overall, I was underwhelmed by them :'(, hence I got a 3.2 Elite instead.

True ;D
I considered getting one, but the spine destroying seats/ride, and the inability to go quick soured my initial love of the Vectra-C
But horses for courses :)

Yep keep the power on or else you'll end up facing the other way :) :) :) Similar (but no where as good as) handling to a proper full race Mini ;)

I always wonder about these reports of tail-happy Omegas. Mine has never, ever stepped out at the back end without serious provocation, and that includes with the current tyres, which are budget tyres down to the legal limit on the back and about 5mm on the front.
I struggle with the concept of a FWD car with that much grunt, to be honest, but hope it serves you well. :y

I like them :y. Nice cars :).

Turn off the traction control/esp on any powerful front drive car and drive beyond its limits and that is the result ::),Vectra is probably no worse than anything else in that respect, besides Mr plod used them to replace the Omegas so Can't be that bad :y
