I found this video quite informative and full of lessons for all the countries globally..
and I wish my ambitious politicans watch it :( now my country is trying to have multiple nuclear plants and its obvious that
those places cant be run by joe public (which will be the case here).. even British engineering and science turned from a very close point to disaster :-\

mate the problem is-nobody looks at past when making future--They would learn from mistakes and not repeat them :'( :'(

Cem that was 56 years ago and in a completely different era for nuclear power.
New nuclear power plants are being built taking into account whatever has been proved in the past.
Different days different ways and all that :y :y :y :y

nuclear physics is well known from the time first bomb is made Lizzie.. and not much changed ever since.. uranium is uranium , plutonium is plutonium and cooling ways are fix.. even some time ago, high tech japan had trouble :D
and this wont be the last :(

and I hope we wont be next ;D

The radiation from gas and coal fired power stations kills far more people every year than the nuclear industry has in all of its history.
The problem is that most people are illogical thinkers and they perceive risk very differently from reality. People that quite happily travel in cars, motorbikes and ferries are scared of flying, even though you have the lowest risk of being killed when using this method of transport.
By far the most dangerous thing that we all do is travelling around. Over our lifetimes it will kill 1 in 200 of us, mainly through road accidents!

Rods , coal power stations are harmful without doubt, but those stations effect the surrounding area only and effects can be stopped whenever you stop them.. But a nuclear reactor can explode like an atom bomb ...and even without explosion, its leaks have effects remaining for centuries and those radioactive clouds can travel thousands of miles even effecting different continents :(
my wife is effected from chernobyl when she was a child and still suffering its consequences :(

Where next if we ever build new ones
