Can't afford it anymore, last time I went I was in the Pits Grandstand Block A Row F seats, 1988, £70 for the seat plus £10 centre transfer, still have the ticket. It pissed it down and saw bugger all once the leading car,  Senna went past because of the spray :(

Went to quite a few in the early '70's as a marshall with the BMRMC :y :y

Did not no that the F1 teams have a whip round at each meeting for them.

I went a few years ago for the 3 days and had "gold tickets" [the best that normal money can buy]which where right on the start finish line.
to be honest I was disappointed it was very hard to follow[top tip take a radio with earphones so you can tune into race trackradio]
iam  glad I went but wouldn't rush back
 hope you enjoy it.

oh yes when I got back to the car I found the window smashed and the radio gone.

It's news to me, we got a ring side seat ???, hard work and lived in tin tents :(  We did it as volunteers and took the responsibility very seriously, attending numerous training sessions in our own time and expense to qualify for various post ( flag Marshall, fire Marshall etc) for no reward. The regional clubs may have received some funding but no individual benefitted, the same was true for the RAC Rally, Mintex Rally etc :y

i went to the Silverstone BTCC. Thought it was epic - i loved the noise and the smell of burnt rubber  :) :) :)

so we got the cheapest ''gen admission'' tickets.

with the tickets came an advert for a snoozebox.....

http://www.snoozebox.com/home/index.html#welcome

id seen them at the touring cars and thought ''what a great idea'' bearing in mind i don't suffer from claustrophobia. for 3 nights per person and without going on the site guess how much......

Used to go regularly then to both UK and Euro venues - freebie - as guests of ICI, who sponsored the "wan*ers" team, complete with hospitality, pit passes etc.  Main issue was getting in/out of Silverstone, so used to get a free pass for a mate who'd fly us in in his Piper - used to fly from Gamblingay "grass strip" - those were the days, chatting with Frank, Patrick, Mansell and Rosberg (Snr) before and after racing.

I went to the G.P. at Brands hatch years ago,  84/85? , waited ages for it to start only to have Jacques Laffite stuff it on the first corner and break his legs , took so long for the restart I fell asleep and missed it !

His team mate,Rosberg tripped over himself trying to pass the leader at Graham Hill bend/Cooper straight and Mansell passed both of them and took the win. There was no stopping him after that. :y

You only have to watch the first couple of corners to appreciate how much it's been dumbed down since then. :o
