Title: My new load lugger.
Post by: Del Boy on 01 June 2013, 20:32:47
Decided I needed an Estate, this came up as a dealer special, customer cancellation, so a masshoosive discount  :). Latest 3.0 Diesel engine with 258 BHP, goes very, very well.

Are you ok?  ;) ;)

I think I much prefer it to the new 5 Series Saloons to be honest.

 .....

They're a great looking car, I was looking at one in the dealers a week or 3 back. The CLS was/is supposed to be a coupé ... so not sure why MB have made an estate a shooting brake version  ::) but I'd have one. (Just need to start saving ...........  ;D ) Pretty sure there's no tow bar option though  ;)

Can they get the rear lights on the rear wing to match up with the ones on the tail gate...?

As Ray Charles used to say when somebody played a bum note... "now... Why would you do somethin' like that?"

I know you can get the 2.0d's with a proper manual box, can you get the 3.0's as a manual too?

Yeah can get these in manual too. The manuals are horrible though, and slower :y.

Would imagine that a manual would be harder to sell on as well, due to being less desirable on this type of car. The monstrous torque, linked to the auto-box, is great for the smile factor at traffic lights.  ;) :y

Plod originally bought manuals, but quite quickly discovered that they have clutch temp sensors ::) clutch gets hot and shuts the car down, really useful in high speed work ;D

Not surprisingly, almost all plod are autos ::)

We have 3 of the manual versions at work, DMF's have gone in all of em at fairly low miles. The eldest one is on its 3rd one at 70k. Great engines though, we never had the problems that Taxi al quoted though. We're actually getting the newer 535d's soon  :) :) :) and for the unmarked series 3's with the 3l lump  :D :D :D

Still prefer the Volvo though, awesome power and quicker from a start. We did have the Jaaaaag XF on test, wish we could get that.............Pretty plllllleeeeeeaaaasseeee!!!! lol

Pandas Ford Focus.. Not one VX police car of any type around here although saw a Zafira once could have been from a different force markings didn't look from around here  :-\
