Post by: stevenenglish on 05 June 2013, 08:32:10
Am fitting Zenec NC524 sound system with integrated phone and navigation system, to Omega 2002. Navigation GPS antenna is magnetic, just want to know where this can be mounted within the car, anyone any ideas

The Mag Mounts are designed to go on the roof for best reception, if its a combined GSM/PCN and GPS type then not going to work very well inside the car.

Why not look at using an 'Omega OEM' type combined Sat and Phone Aerial to replace your GSM one.

The magnetic GPS Trimble/Mouse style aerials will work fine inside the car providing that they have a clear upwards view that is not covered by metal. You can mount them under the dash plastics, as thin plastic above them will not affect them, but make sure that they are placed flat and as far towards the front of the dash as you can, so that the upwards view is covered by the window and not obscured by the roof.

I have a magnetic gps receiver in one of my Omegas, on top of dash, under the tax disc holder.
