Yeh Yeh, I know, it's French. ::) ::)
Daughters '53 plate' Peugeot 206 1.4 8V has had an intermittent fault lately but it's just decided to be a permanent fault. Key out and re-start sometimes cleared it but doesn't now.
The symptoms are:
1. Loss of power but the engine will still run and idle, albeit very lumpy and sounds like it's hunting.
2. EML flashes with audible beeping. (Now permanently on and beeping)
3. Starts first time but is reluctant to rev. Very shaky when revved, like it's mis-firing. Struggles to get to 50mph so I have ruled out ICV. :-\
Very basic checks carried out so far:
1. Unplugged MAP/MAF sensor resulted in no change.
2. Unplugged the injectors one by one with engine running. Injector No.4 had the least impact on idle speed, but not sure how conclusive that is as it seemed to vary. ::) :)
Thought I'd put out a feeler on here to you knowledgeable folks first before getting the codes read and then looking at sensors, coil packs etc. Shame they can't be 'blink tested'. ::)
I've probably introduced a few more codes myself by removing plugs so will get it cleared first. :y
Cheers for any input ..............................apart from 'its French' insults. :y ;D ;D

we're THAT predictable ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D
Can you beg or borrow a code reader of some sort? My Maxiscan read faults on my wife's Smart & s-in-l's Fiat.
May cam or crank sensor :-\ :-\ :-\

Will pop it over to my mates tomorrow to see if his snap-on modus will read it. :y
Bless her, the car has not let her down in over five years in her ownership and just when she is about to pick up the keys to her first house, and needs every penny, it starts playing up. The law of sod I believe it's called. :(

Got one at work with similar symptoms, runs well from cold then develops misfire,I suspected coil pack but turned out to be injector number 1,so either injector itself or wiring harness or at worst case drivers in ecu,luckily I have a working scrapper to swap parts from

Where've you been, I've been waiting for you. ;D ;D Thanks Henry, much appreciated. :y Injector 4 ( I think its 4 ) had the least impact but will get the codes read tomorrow and we'll see what it throws up. Is injector 4 the one next to the cambelt. :-\
-
Number 1 is at the front next to the cambelt, number 4 being the gearbox end :y
Notable exceptions being VAG diesel Vs which have the timing gear at the gearbox end ::)

Ah that's easy :y
They do because they can. It matters not what or how, or even on the outcome. Being French is justification enough ;D

Codes cleared. Codes re-read and code showing Injector fault, but not which one, came up. Me thinks I'll start with No.4 as this made the least difference when removed. I hope it is an injector as they are not cheap to buy for elimination purposes. :o :o Then have to check the wiring if that fails. :-\
Got moaned at for introducing additional codes by fiddling. ;D ;D
-
Did these not have little washers/seals which the injectors sat in/on which used to erode and cause problems,i remember my mate having to get them replaced,cheaper than injectors.

Bugger, I'm waiting for the delivery of one now. :-\ We shall see what I find, I just hope it's not wiring related as that can be a sod to trace. :'(

The little loom that connects the injectors to the multi plug is the bit that normally plays up :y

Odd,I use a Solus Pro and it gave "cylinder no1 injector fault" ???

All sorted now. :y
I replaced the injector on the cambelt end and it's running fine now. :y
