Hi, Can anyone advise me if the exhaust from a 1999 V6 2.5 (pre facelift? grill not part of bonnet) from the downpipes backwards will fit a 2001 3.0 V6. Thanks
-
Assuming both same body type, ie both saloons or estates then yes :)
2001 would be a facelift so the rear tail pipes will sit further back, due to FL's bigger bumpers :y

Many thanks...couple of trims will sort it I assume.

correct

yes but 2.5 only has 1 outlet not 2 as 3.0 has :y
-
does that matter?

Cosmetic only :y
Presume you have the exhaust?....

find you get better performance from twin pipe-that is why I fit them on my 2.5's :y

No internal difference on the boxes, only cosmetic as others have said. :)

better still get rid of whole system and build your own full flow . :y

Bit loud maybe :-\

And, quite often with stainless systems, they are a bit flat on power. Possibly due to cost savings using a single pipe, instead of the oe twin mid sections perhaps?

Not such a big deal if the bore is larger to compensate :-\

Maybe they need two silencer boxes? Dunno, I'm no exhaust expert, but the ones I've encountered on omegas feel low on power and high on noise.
One in particular was very poorly fitted.
I just get the impression the fitters make them to their own convenience. Longlife, powerflow, both the same, lazy arses.
Also;
They can't make the clamp to the cat sections, it seems, so often cut the cats and weld on instead. The system is then specific to that car unless the cats go with them. Which means extra agro of removing cats, and if your 3.2 has no pre cat code you have no idea if your inheriting that problem as well if buying a used stainless hand made system.
Given the relevant costs, agro and life pans of handmade v an Eternal system for example. I'd take the Eternal every time. Even if they don't last as long as gm tc systems.

if. You make a single bore system on the v6 you will lose power due to the pulse wave caused by the valves opening hence it has two, pipes into a duel pipe rear box,A good quality stainless system should be twin as per the original.
