Title: Omega Key Programming
Post by: John-R on 12 June 2013, 19:24:13
Got 2 keys with the car but have only ever used 1. The second key is already cut but I found out the other week that it's not programmed.

The first key is wearing away on the buttons.

I read somewhere that the local locksmith will only clone the key and not programme it properly using Tech 2. What is the difference in practical terms ?
Locksmith £45 vs Tech 2 £??. Is there a Tech 2 guy near me (Liverpool)

Also can I buy a replacement key and simply swap the already cut part of my original key and swap the internal gubbins so I then have 2 good keys ?

Thanks

Yeah, if you swap your working transponder and electronics part of the fob, that'll work

The ebay 3 button ones are quite poor to be host - too hard rubber.
