To me this "New Insignia" Looks like what a modern Omega would look like if not a tad small but its a pretty good looking car :y
It will have a beefy 2.0 engine going by top gear.
turbocharged 247bhp 2.0-litre petrol
-
Anyone else think the grill is a bit Ford Scorpio ???. I like it, but it looks from every picture I've seen as if its braking hard and the front has nose dived.
-
1st lot of pictures don't really do it justice crappy FB pictures ::)

I'd imagine it will have the same 2.8T V6 found in the previous Insignia :-\
-
Sorry it not my cup of tea :(
-
Back end looks very Jag XF :y
-
Sorry but to my old and weary eyes i'm struggling to see what's different from the current model?
I'm guessing just the usual extra bits of fake chrome superglued on and they probably changed the headlight shape and stuck some chavvy headunit and trim in the interior.
Maybe the problem is that the original car never inspired me to spend more the a millisecond looking at it as i'm not a sales rep or retired! :-X
-
Just as utterly fugly, inside & out, as the current model imo. VX have completely lost their way in recent times imo. :(
-
Nope! I can't see much difference either.... :-\
-
ugly , I will never buy it..

Get your glasses on :o ::)

Nice scenery in the background though.... :P :) Wonder where it is? :-\
-
I'd like to like it but...............It does nothing for me at all :(
I actually was looking at one in a car park last Saturday and thought the design was ageing quickly .
I'd actually buy and "ugly " BMW E61 5 series before an Insignia.
-
The front reminds me of the Ford Scorpio........that's hardly a compliment. ;)

It's 'dumpy' looks do nothing for me. :-\
-
No great difference to the earlier mediocre looking car. :( :( :(
-
.... if not a tad small but its ..
No idea of the actual sizes, but I'd be very surprised if the Insignia is smaller than an Omega. I can't remember where I saw the picture (SS News? :-\) of a Lotus Carlton next to an Insignia. Th Carlton looked very small. ???
-
not keen on the Insignia but not the worst facelift, but i really dislike the cramped feeling of the interior.

only thing that lets it down is the GB sticker ;D ;D

now take my attention the front looks very similiar to mercedes ???

Its not just me then :). I like it though :y.

I wonder what it would look like with a Mondeo front and a Insignia a--e?
I,m sure some clever bugger on here could mock up some pics. 8)
-
There's a challenge!! :) Unfortunately I'm not clever enough.... :-[
-
The Mondeo Aston Martin wannabe ;D ::)

Me neither, can,t even do an e-mail to my son this morning, doh :-[

The Mondeo Aston Martin wannabe ;D ::)
Talking of which, saw an Aston Rapide yesterday 8)
Doesn't matter how much you spend on a car, it will always end up sitting in traffic ;D

IMO it drives the wrong wheels to have any interest in it.
I presume as the changes only look cosmetic it is just a mid-life makeover.
It look like the interior is missing a vital device. A magic tree air freshener holder. ::)
-
Don't panic Rods :y it has an interior mirror fitted as standard 8)
-
I wonder which oof member it will be to buy this first?
You will have to be quick because there working on the mk3 now
so it will be double money. :D
-
The Insignia has always been just another modern car to me: lots of 'design' features that try to mask the immense size and horribly bloated proportions. Saab's rendition looked much better to my eye.
And how did metallic brown become a fashionable colour again? Do people order a new car thinking "A car needs to reflect my current status; early forties, married, two kids, middle management job, no imagination, and a complete lack of any excitement. It'll have to be a shit brown Insignia"
-

Which is exactly what everyone says/said about the Omega as well. Yet you own one I presume? You know that bland sales rep wagon Vauxhall made in the 90's.

Strange, as most Sales reps in the 90's drove a Cavalier 1.8LS or Mondeo 1.8LX....... or later on a Vectra 1.8LS etc
Can't deny that the Omega isn't bland but I do like the RWD chassis and to be fair, the facelift was a quite significant styling change whereas I really am struggling to see much difference in this 'facelifted' Insignia from it's earlier model.
-
the back bumper looks much better now, that was what let it down i reckon!
-
Virtually identical to my eyes :-\
-
:o :o :o
Take a closer look at the detail there's several differences inside and out or can I only see that ::)
-
still looks like a dog squatting and taking a turd
I cant see any change apart from that bit of chrome or what have you round the rear light cluster.
I love the astra though. that's gorgeous. and to be fair to vx their interiors are properly smart these days. imo of course :y

No matter how many shiny necklaces you place around a wrinkly neck, the neck will still look like a oversized ballbag.
Gopping.

It's something us RHD countries will have to put up with (if you are Right Handed). It's there so you can 'sketch' a letter for the address input of the SatNav etc, just like you do with the Philips and NCDC SatNav, but not needing to scroll through a stupid list. In theory, it's an excellent idea, but I'm right handed and would have liked the touchpad on my R/H Side.
-
OK, I can see some changes to the centre console, but the rest of the interior and the exntire exterior looks no different...

Most people are Right Handed i'd have imagined (ok for rest of Europe then ::)), The passenger will have to do it on the move then or pull over and sit in the passenger seat in the UK :D ;D

If I HAD to have an Insignia I'd want a large capacity PETROL engined version comparable to my 3.0 Omega Elite. It seems though that if I want a large petrol engine, I'd have to have four wheel drive (but suspect that it's part time 4 x 4 :-\) and pot hard Nurburgring derived suspension. ??? ???

Would have thought the Elite would be softer than say the VXR 2.8 V6 Turbo 4x4 and its adaptive 4x4 i believe puts the power when its losing grip on the wheels that needs the power i think.. Better 4x4 than FWD wouldn't touch a FWD with as much power as these have.. But the TAX is a killer on these 2.8s...

Like the dash clocks, centre console, Bose... Seats look the same as previous model.

So the interior is just as big a mess as the exterior. Look at it; swoopy bits, straight bits, metal, leather, plastic, etc etc.
And shit brown leather too! What were they they thinking?

It's just life dragging down my natural sunny optimism. That and the original sludgy green vinyl(including the headlining!) interior in my Avenger has scarred me for life.

What if I added that the Insignia interior pictured is MUCH better looking than recent Fords which look like an explosion in a mobile phone factory.

I've never liked the (non) shutline below the boot lid, which looks even worse on the new one. :o
