Title: Sunroof
Post by: Mr.OmegaMan on 19 June 2013, 19:48:42
The matt black type paint on the sunroof is peeling on the Elite.. Have been thinking its going to be a little awkward to paint myself so am thinking about taking all the paint off and polishing the alloy.. Has anyone else done this ?

Most of them seem to do that.                   Apart from the spare one I have in my shed. :) :D

Yep seen a few like this now, Don't fancy taking the sunroof out encase i c**# something up and water comes in or something..

Should look pretty good if i can get it to come up nice the alloy on a Nocturno blue pain backing

Yes, they all do that Sir  ::)

Tbh, as its rarely seen I've just left it on ours. Paint and cars is one of those things that has to be done by an expert (or you really know what you are doing), otherwise it often looks shite  :(

Yep agreed,

But with the sunroof rim in question being on the roof and doesn't have to match any colour as such it should be pretty simple but awkward.

Will probably go for the Alloy look, mask the surrounding area and get to it, When it cools down mind been bloody boiling here today.

Replace it with one from a superior PFL/MFL. GM's penny pinchers weren't quite so retarded then.

I'm pretty sure it is steel so it would have the alloy look for a day then be a natural brown, unless you laquer it.
