Does anyone have any experience of these? Looks quite useful for old farts like me. :y

A friend of mine has one - it works alright although it's tediously slow to get anywhere (obviously it has to be massively geared down to get the torque required to lift a car).. I can't imagine replacing a good quality trolley jack with one, though.

Surely a miggy weighs more than that can lift?

They go up to 2 Ton, but a 1.5 should be OK for a wheel change. It just looks handy for touring. :y

I wonder if it'll lift high enough, fair bit of suspension travel on a mig before the wheel clears the ground ???

how about a normal sissor jack and a cordless drill?

Could work I suppose, but this is purpose built, and I suspect that a cordless drill would struggle to lift with a scissor jack. :-\

Good point, they go from 110 up to 350mm. Anyone know what we need on the fronts? :-\ I think the jacking beam is about 150 so a block of wood would help.

I read the advert that it is suitable for cars that weigh less than 1.5 tonnes. I would have thought you would want the 2 tonne model with an Omega.

If it's just for wheel changes it would be fine, only lifting 1/4 of 1.7 tonnes.

From the advert:

"PLEASE BE SURE THAT THE CAR YOU INTEND TO LIFT IS LESS THAN 1500 kilograms TO AVOID OVERLOADING AND DAMAGING THE JACK."

This suggests to me that the advert is a little misleading and it cannot lift much more than 375kg or 25% of 1,500kg.

Personally, I would want to be in on a motorway or the backend of beyond, pouring with rain, with a puncture to find that this jack was not man enough to lift the car to change the wheel. If I was spending £59.99 I would spend the extra £10 for the 2 tonne.

Agreed, I had already decided, if I get one, to get the bigger one. :y :y :y

why not look for a scissor jack that has a 17mm hexdrive(same as the wheel nuts for convienience) and a cheap, long-handled ratchet. which would also be useful for loosening the wheelnuts.
