Title: Your opinion about this one?
Post by: danzigfan on 20 June 2013, 21:49:42
Don't bother with translation, says it has 260.000 km covered, driver's seat is in bad condition , headlight washer is gone aparently...not a tidy example but it's hard to find any better  :( It will probably stay on sell forever due to V6 lump which isn't popular around here so I'm not in a hurry.

looking  at its age there will be some serious expenses.. if I would accept to spend this money I would go for a 3.0 manual

Given the high miles it look quite tidy, not worth a lot of money in this Country...... :)

If there are any 3.0 ....they're probably in some boyracer's hands by now.... :-[ All of them abused, crashed and well over 300.000 km for sure

They aren't overpriced here, nobody wants an old barge with huge apetite for gas any more....relatively cheap - relatively crap.... :-X

Opel versions have different Spec names , I believe that's pretty much the equivalent to an Elite.

Which planet are you from? A quick glance at that says CD spec with xenons (no cruise and no sunroof) ::)

€690 is £600 give or take, not too bad considering it is rust free with a mere 160k miles under it :y

As you said Al, give or take option. About specs....doesn't seem they were the same as in England at all and that's a shame because I'd really like leather seats in my curently 4 pot branded as "sport". If I was going for V6 I'd like to get as much as I can

Elegance is their top spec, it's a bit like BMW over there they can add what ever they want.

I've seen 3.2 "Elegance" spec, with CID, Bose and the TV mounted in the roof.

Ok T, what in any way, shape or form is top spec about this Geman 3.2 Elegance...

Especially when compared with this 3.2 Executive...

I'd put good money on that only having electric height adjustment on the front seats ::)

The Executive has full electric front seats and heated rears, along with cruise control and folding door mirrors.

Flicking through German ebay, 50% of the facelift cars have one of the topend head units fitted, most of them with CIDs :y
As this base model nicely demonstrates...

 http://www.ebay.de/itm/Opel-Omega-2-5DTI-Edition-mit-100000km-/200934578392?pt=Automobile&hash=item2ec8a258d8  (http://www.ebay.de/itm/Opel-Omega-2-5DTI-Edition-mit-100000km-/200934578392?pt=Automobile&hash=item2ec8a258d8)

The Elegance was a blank canvas model, same as the Vectra C when it first came out, with a shedload of options.

Have a read of the FAQs  ::)

European specs are as follows, near as I can tell :y The devil being in the detail. Of ALL the facelift Omegas on German Ebay, 75% have xenons, 60% have NCDC 2013s or better fitted and of those, half have full colour screens

Base.(2.0/2.2 petrol and diesel, 2.5 td/dti/v6, 2.6 v6)
Elegance.(Essentially CD with an extensive options list, engines as above plus 3.0 v6, 3.2 v6
Sport. (4pot MV6. 2.2 petrol)
MV6. (Similar to UK, 3.0 v6, 2.6 v6, 3.2 v6)
Executive. (Elite spec, 2.5 dti/v6, 2.6 v6, 3.0 v6, 3.2 v6)
Design Edition, as Executive plus different alloys and exclusive dark green leather.

Actually who gives a flying horse chestnut. European specs are different, get over it.

Its not a word used here to describe any car  ::) Trading standards would never allow it , but my thinking is its a word to describe a car thats of old pensioner status or a bottle of wine thats been standing untouched and mint  :P Never understood why some call the estate a caravan  :-\ guess you could live in it  ;D

I am doing alright with my "store an Omega" for future Classic Car use. My apprentice mechanics school uses them to practice on. Owners never know!

Caravan seems to be used in many East European countries to describe an estate. They call them that in Ukraine.

Where it is a rare model, if that is what you want, then buy it, before somebody else does and leaves you wishing that you had.

It is the same in Ukraine 2.5 / 2.6 V6 rare, 3.0 / 3.2 very rare, but they are much more expensive there. A 2000, 2.5l caravan like that would be €4000-6000.
