Hi All,
Rather than add this to the bottom of the last lot (as there were a lot of pictures) ::) I have 3 more after I have cleaned the gasket sealant (red/pink?)

When all the sealant was removed I discovered the arrowed hole (each cam has them on either side of the semicircle that the cam seal fits into) Would I be right in thinking that these shouldn't be blocked by gasket sealant when refitting the cam lids?

Side and top view of the end of cam 3, the area marked (A) is slight corrosion (all the half moon's at the bulkhead end have them in the middle - couldn't get an in focused image of these yet) does this need to be polished out with 1k grit wet & dry?
area (B) is where there was a lump of dried oil, so I painted it with the gasket stripper. As can be seen I has removed most of the offending deposits and cleaned some of the dark brown staining from poor oil changes. Is it worth cleaning more of this grime off or do I leave it to the new oil and time?
Worked out how to get photos side by side! :) seemples, when you think about it!
Whilst I've got the engine like this, is there anything I should check now? Is it okay to remove the alternator to clean it as its covered in oils and road muck? ::)
Cheers - Paul :)

Yes, those holes drain oil from behind the cam oil seal, so if they are blocked the seal will fail.
Corrosion doesn't look to be near the gasket seating area, so I reckon it'll be fine.

I wonder how many have blocked those with sealant ::) :-\
