Nadal out in the 1st round to a relative unknown. Sharapova and Federer both gone today to very low ranked players. Tsonga retired injured. Hewitt beaten by someone I've never heard of. Andy Murray must have a chance now, but I think the detractors will say it was a freak if he wins it.

7 players out injured-some on court for minutes :o :o :o :o dodgy goins on there

Not too fussed about the others, but Sharapova going out is a great loss as far as I am concerned. :-* :-* ;)

Seriously, it does look very green, and I guess slippery.
Not seen it that green in previous years. :-\

Not been as dry as previous years plenty of rain making it lush maybe that's the cause :-\

I reckon its a fix personally and I don't like Murray either.

Dont normally get time to watch it these days but had to laugh when I heard about this on the news. Think the bloke they interviewed from the Telegraph got it right when he said that, yes, the grass was a bit wet/lush and so was obviously more slippery than when dry but actually there was nothing wrong with the courts at all-it was more the case that so many of the players were used to playing on clay and simply hadnt spent the time practicing on grass beforehand. Its Wimbledon, its grass, they knew that so get over it.

All well and good, but how much energy are they wasting?............ :D :D :D

Absolutely right. Many spend so much time on clay, they seem to imagine that Wimbledon will not require any special effort.
Unfortunately, it's put paid to my plan for nude women's tennis, since if they slip wearing tennis shoes, it would be a lot worse in bare feet. ;) ;) ;D ;D ;D

Dunno-but there must be a way of harnessing it. An opportunity that Greenpeace have missed maybe?
