Trying to connect into work 'cos something urgent has happened.
I have Cisco VPN client on the laptop, and a RSA SecureID token. My understanding is, you use the number generated by the token, and then the number on the back of the key, as the password.
It's worked before, but won't now. I can see the server, just won't authenticate me.
I'm sure it's me doing something wrong, anyone have any ideas? :'(

on ours its your fixed number, then the randomish one
-
ohhh, and if your on a laptop you havent left num lock on have you?
done that so many times when dialing in at 3am!
-
That's not the way we use them. We use standard usernames and passwords then the 2nd factor is the code generated. But then we don't use Cisco VPN client ::)

How many digits does fixed no consist of?
-
ours is 4

What a crock of crap, I may have to go for a drive if I can't get this working :'(
-
Touch wood I've never had too :D
-
Same deal with ours, you have a userID and password/PIN and then enter to code to authenticate
-
??????????????????????????????????????????????????????? :-?
-
When we used securid, it was username & password, then securid number as last part.
-
our current system is
userid
4 digit fixed no, 6 digit keygened number
the 4 digit bit is either last 4 digits of the serial number for some, or the last 4 digits that were generated by the securid token at registration time for others.

Same as how ours used to work, perhaps it needs re-syncing.

So, did you manage it? or have to go for a drive :(
-
ours is similar but sometimes the pesky useless firewall gets stuck and wont let the comp communicate with the network as it thinks its an unauthorised connection
