Had to take swmbo into hospital today, thought they were going to keep her in yesterday after results of a scan, but no beds available so at least she has had a little time to get used to the idea. She s not happy, by 5.30pm having arrived at 1.30pm there had been none of the further tests talked about yesterday, indeed nothing. No tests or anything yet, just medical history and the normal weights, pulse etc, that's why she is not happy. I think she secretly hoped that she would be on her way home tonight, which we all knew would not be the case. Hope to find out more tomorrow. ;)
James Cook hospital in Middlesbrough, about 40 minutes in the Jeep rather than our local hospital about 15 mins away, might have to used the Mig for a few days.......... ;) :-X
I was in this hospital for some massive work to be done some years ago and very different now, staff were great but so overstretched; the hca came to do some swabs and bits and bobs, if she left to get something she ended up doing something else as well, before getting back us. My boss had warned me about ‘poor care’ this morning, I thought she was mistaken, how wrong was I?............ :(

vamps sorry to hear the mrs is in hospital but my granddaughter was in james cooke last year just after she was born for a heart murmur they were briliant so rest asured shes in the right hospital please pass on our best wishes for a speedy recovery i

I'm afraid I was massively unimpressed with James Cook when I was at their tender mercy, as had I remained so I would now be pushing up daisies! >:(
On the plus side, i'm sure Miss Vamps will take good care of you while your good lady is incommunicado :y

Thank you for the supportive posts..... :y She has a blockage in her arteries (an artery?) in her left leg, it is affecting her foot, toes mainly and been in tears with pain this last 3 months, but started 18 months ago, passed from pillar to post, hopefully this is the beginning of the end....... :)

I was very happy with James Cook when I was in for about 3 months on and off, mind, thinking about it, I was in so long cos the op repair went wrong and ended up with an air leak - long story....... :-X

all the best to your good lady. as a side note my brother in law had very severe pains in his leg and was diagnosed with a clot and a major aneurism, the upshot is, after major surgery he's home and amusing everybody with his incessant 'humour' (he's an undertaker !)

Worrying times for your family Mike. I hope she is back home soon.
If she is in for a while, take her some decent food to snack on.

How is Miss Vamps taking it? She's at quite an emotionally vulnerable age, iirc (like Miss Nickbat).

She has to have a full CT Scan and an Angiogram, but don't know when..... ::) ::) So she is sitting around doing nothing...... :-X On the plus side she is in the right place and is now on Morphine every 2 hours so pain is more bearable, meaning she is a little chirpier in herself..... :y :y
Visited twice today, 45 mile round trip, or thereabouts, took Miss Vamps tonight and we sent a joint text night night last night, I think that made Miss Vamps feel better...... :y
Bloomin expensive business, fuel, Costa coffee + food, McDonalds for Miss Vamps and that blooming pay tv, £7.50 for 18 hours of use, and that is 18 hours not 18 hours of tv, right rip off........ :( :( Managed to avoid any parking fees so far...... :y

A little update........
She had a CT scan this morning, no results yet, the Angiogram is due on Monday but they are not certain as it has been broken and there is a backlog.... ::) ::) :-X
She is bored, there is no wi-fi just those stupid tv things, she has credit but it is very fiddly, going to take a laptop and my 'dongle' in tomorrow, had to top her phone up tonight as she has been using that to keep in touch and, like me, only payg as we don't use them much..... :D :D
She's not shy though and is getting into the hospital community........ :D :D :D

just as well she's got her PAYG, those bedside payphones are definately Dick Turpin Territory :o
I take it you'll be Capt'n of the Heads for a while longer then, or have you detailed one of your Sprogs for that little number ;D

Yep, and the Galley, the laundry dept, stores, provisions, communications centre and logistics and back to work on Monday...... :D :D

If only for a rest I shouldn't wonder ::) the diagnosis always takes time, but hopefully once all the tests are done they can get to sorting the problem and get her home again :y

trouble with hospitals is they frequently have to use old/obsolete equipment-due too funds-however they do the best they can
Glad there is progress and boss is still in high spirits-that helps towards recovery :y hope all goes well :y
