Title: DIY Kitchen cooker hood wall support question. Any fitters/DIYers?
Post by: Varche on 28 June 2013, 19:07:19
I have a heavy (at a guess 35 to 40Kg) washed lime wooden cooker hood with electric extractor to fix to a fairly true stone/adobe wall.

I am looking for a couple of heavy duty fixings, preferably with adjustment, from the UK. Ideally it wouldn't drop down onto the "peg" or support as I want it close to/touching the ceiling. However if need be to get strong fixings I could compromise and put a filling strip in.

Can anyone point me at a website selling what I am after please? Is it a Camar fixing?

Brian, your local ferreteria will have what you're looking for.

I have found a fixing system with honeycomb plugs, resin mix and bolts.

I'm not there at the moment so can't nip into the garage to have a look at the name.

Can't testify to strength but I will be using them for garage door frame fixings into that red hollow brick. The local builder guy told me about this as he uses it all the time....wish I could remember the name though.

Good luck anyway, sounds like a n ice project.
