Title: Coolant leak
Post by: danzigfan on 29 June 2013, 10:55:11
Hi guys, my omega is having quite a huge coolant leak and it's not the faulty HBV.
Coolant leaks when engine is cold, don't know what's hapening when hot, just found coolant dropping somewhere on the edge of radiator and found some coolant still leaking now somewhere from "engine"....see it comes down from above oil sump  :( Could it be water pump leaking? Was changed 45.000 km ago.
About 1 liter of coolant is wasted every 200 km, maybe it's even worse.
Does anyone know for some well known leak on 4 pot lumps, beside HBV ?

And a "signature" of my omega following me everywhere

Easy enough to pop the aux belt & cambelt cover off to inspect  :)  :y

I'd be half tempted to stick the aux belt back on, after the cover is off and run it, yes its exposed so keep everything away, might see it weaping/leaking under engine pressure  :)

Was thinking about that myself but haven't done that before with no cover on. I might find belt tensioner is FUBAR again as well  :-X Thanks Tunnie
