Just driving down the road, and an almighty clatter and something bouncing off down the road....did it come from my Omega, 2.6 Elite Estate.....or does it belong to someone else

Yup, thats one of the exhaust heat shields from the pre-cat area I think :)
-
I would not worry too much about it, can live without it :y
-
Thanks tunnie....I was worried I may have to take the car home and swap it for the 2.5.
Not sure if some other bits flew off too, as a mile later, something else seemed to let go, but car sounds fine :y

Can you weld? Can spot weld it back on, not sure if you could do it in place, or have to drop the exhaust downpipe section :-\

Mine fell off at the MOT station, well I kinda broke it off it was dangling full of rust rot no point trying to save anyways was a perfect opportunity while she was on the ramps in the air ;D

Is there any point, Mr Tunnie?
-
Might be worth a quick look just to be sure that nowt else is missing :y
Potential for some damage if it hit anything else on its way off :-\
-
If no welding access, you can use exhaust clamps to bolt (crush) them back on, them cats do get hot.

Well GM did put it on there, so must be a reason for it. If its a 5 minute job, why not :y
