So I thought it would be interesting to have a confession time on how well OOFers eat :y or not :o
So what have you eaten today?
For Me:
Breakfast was two shredded wheat with logan and raspberries from the garden and semi-skimmed milk, followed by a mug of black no sugar decaf coffee.
Lunch was a bowl of salad; cherry tomatoes, lettuce, cucumber, radish, sweet red pepper and beetroot with honey and mustard dressing.
Tea was home made stuffed pepper with beef mince and rice with a cheese and tomato topping, frozen peas and royal Jersey new potatoes, cooked with a sprig of mint from the garden. Pudding was more logan and raspberries with a couple of rings of fresh pineapple and a raspberry yogurt.
It look like the cold spring means that fruit trees and bushes are going to have a bumper crop this year. I've had to tie up the fruit canes, where the tops are so heavy and they were bent down to the ground. I've only just started picking the logan and raspberries, but I'm already getting about 250 grams a day. I think I'm going to eating a lot of fresh fruit from the garden in the next month or two. :) :) :) :y :y :y

I forgot to put the other 3 big (1/2 pint) mugs of coffee I've had during the day. Generally 1 drink between 1 and 2l of water and coffee a day. If I dehydrate I very quickly get very bad headaches, which last for at least 12 hours or more, so it is something that I try at all costs to avoid.
When 1 was doing building work in the Ukraine at the beginning of May the days were between 25 and 34 degC in the shade and about 50degC in the sun. I was drinking and sweating about 4 litres of water a day, but it did wonders for my vitamin D production, where I'm certain I had a deficiency after 2012's summer.

Just a bowl of fruit & fibre with proper full fat milk & a packet of quavers so far today. And a couple of mugs of fully caffeinated coffee ...... I've been busy walking the dog & fixing a couple of jobs on the cars. :y
what's the point in skimmed or semi skimmed milk or coffee with the caffine removed ??? ;) ;) ;)

I drink a lot of coffee and have a low threshold of caffeine tolerance. If I have too much I get a racing heart and the shakes.
Skimmed milk and semi-skimmed milk are lower in fat. But there is much debate on any health benefits. As both my parents had heart problems, I err on the save side by eating a low fat diet, but I am partial to a good extra mature cheddar which is high in fat.

All that fruit! It's a wonder you don't shit yourselves.

Hmmm - if you asked me before today I would have reported frugal eating as I was in West Africa and cutting back on everything is the only way to stay healthy.
Today a different story:
Crunchy nut flakes and 1 piece toast in the am.
Italian meatballs/ spaghetti and 2 glasses wine for lunch
Snacked on crisps while watching a bit of tennis -early evening
Mediterranean vegetables and cheese starter, then 10oz sirloin steak, onion rings, chips and 4 pints Guinness - evening meal

Estate agent called just before 9. The potential buyers cancelled, their own sale had fallen through so no point in looking if they can't buy.
I suspect we may get a lot of that. With no first time buyers coming along everything stalls :( Thank you banks.

Daughter and partner are coming around this evening
BBQ'd Steaks time :y I need an excuse to do that. ::)
Better get some beer in fridge :y
I buy whole lumps of ribeye or sirloin in Makro. It costs a lot in one go, but the price per kilo is cheap, so slice it up and into freezer.

Rog - do you treat it before cooking? Like hammering flat, salting, marinade for a few hours type thing? I have always been dissappointed with the steak we get here. It is more a pork country!

No. It's pretty good quality and costs around £13 per kg which is much cheaper than the supermarkets, but you have to buy a huge chunk and cut into individual steaks. I prefer to buy the British rather than the Brazilian which I have found disappointing.
If I am using rump, yes I bash it.
So, I don't bash them, but I do sprinkle with a little garlic salt, and a lot of black pepper or steak seasoning, and marinade in garlic infused olive oil. BBQ for around 2 minutes a side according to thickness to char, and then leave on top shelf of BBQ to cook through according to how they are to be cooked (Rare, Medium, Well etc).
Oh ! One last thing. A decent bottle of Argie Malbec to glug :y
Free cookery lesson ends ;) ::)
Actually, what I do isn't far off what this guy does. He copied ME ! ;D ;D
