No, the later ones are Navtec which is a different system

No, although Navteq still produce ones that work, the ones for the Siemens units used in facelifts will not work in Carin used in prefacelifts.

I'm running a July 07 map disk in my carin, and not convinced its not worse than the older map disk I used to use, as it has some pretty bad errors....

I've stopped using the built in satnav and just use the TomTom ... its updateable, can use postcodes, is far easier to use, and can have POI's running .. speed cameras and LPG stations being just 2 of those I use !!

The only advantage of the built in is it seems to use a slightly "more logical" routing .. if you can actually find your destination !!!

Strangely, I've gone the other way most of the time - tend to use built in more than tomtom. But then my phone keeps going flat when running tomtom....

Bluetooth can cause that, I either plug the "normal" phone into a charger from the rear socket, or, because the car came with a CARK.. I bought a cheap phone/sim off ebay.. turn off the normal phone and autotransfer to the CARK phone .. gives full hands free through the BOSE system :)
