Title: unusual tyre wear.
Post by: robbo299 on 20 May 2008, 22:22:35
Anyone got any thoughts on unusual tyre wear on my brother in laws vectra. Bought car 7 months ago. 55 plate Vectra estate. Noticed last week NEARSIDE REAR tyre had 2 inch wide bald spot on outside of tyre. He checks pressures weekly, has no shudder or any other signs of anything unusual when driving. Took it back to dealer (out of guarantee) and they told him to get alignment checked. Took it to tyre shop and was told dealer talking rubbish and they thought it could have been either badly curbed or been involved in rear end shunt. Took it back to dealer again and was told a HPI check on car when taken in part exchange revealed no known issues. They did offer to swap tyres from front to rear and fit two new ones on the front at a cost of £160. He declined. Any ideas?
