Title: 999............get a nurse to ring you back...................
Post by: Vamps on 09 July 2013, 03:01:07
Rang 999 twice for swmbo, came out of hospital on Thursday and is in agony, terrible service in hospital, long story................. >:( >:(

Could not stand to see her in such pain tonight, been to the GP today who put her on stronger pain killers........ :y

No nurse rang back so rang 999 again, they were helpful but frustrating, they would send an ambulance but would have to wait in A&E, get a doctor to come out with Morphine.....better alternative..... :y

Doctor rang, said to x3 one particular med, if not work then to the drop in for morphine, waiting to see if her med knocks her out............. :-\ :-\

Sorry, ranting but what do you do when your nearest and dearest is crying in pain, again, and she is no wimp....... :'( :'(

I have had Lung Cancer and know what pain is all about, but never pain like this........ :( :(

So, so sorry, Mike. I do hope the meds worked eventually.
I thought she was on the mend.

We all need a rant at some time ...... it makes us feel better even though it might not achieve anything else.  ;)

I hope she starts to feel better soon on her triple dose

A very familiar story unfortunately.Had almost exactly the same thing here on several occasions. Essex ambulance service is unfortunately, completely unfit for purpose. Almost 3 hours to send an ambulance,on three occasions, when the nearest ambulance station is less than 2 miles away.
Similar with the local hospital. The list of horror stories goes on and on.
Private at every opportunity is the mindset here now.Its a whole different world. ;)
Hope your wife gets better soon Mike. :y

Very true that.

FFS, i'd have dragged the doctor out by the gonads if he did to any of my family  >:( >:(
Fingers crossed for your missus Mike  :)

Thank you for your kind comments, they are much appreciated........ :y :y

Got the duty GP this morning who arranged an immediate script for Morphine, and a further appointment with a nurse and doctor together at lunch time, increased meds and Morphine do seem to be helping a lot, she also has an appointment every 2 days to get a new 'special'??? dressing on.... :y :y

She has had a good couple of hours flat out this evening, the first deep sleep for weeks, so lets hope this is the beginning of the end............ :y :y

She was discharged from hospital last Thursday, that was a poor experience as well, her stay in James Cooke hospital Middlesbrough, having had an apparent successful procedure- angiogram and angioplasty (sp?) and told that the abscess would sort itself out not the blood was flowing...... ::) ::) :-X

Should add, our GP's and nurses are excellent......... :y :y
