Title: What's going on?

Round here they have what are known as 10 foots[feet?]which run behind the terrace houses to provide access to back gardens/drives etc.Whoever is responsible for such things[highways agency/]have in their wisdom decided they all need resurfacing[nothing wrong with the ones near us!]meanwhile the roads remain a pot-holed mess!!!So what's going on?Are they getting a massive grant to do the 10 foots as opposed to the roads or what?

Might be part of a housing renewal scheme?

They maybe got approval for the spend to improve the area. It will no doubt come out of a different budget.

Back Lane or Back Alley here abouts............ :y

One near to us is still cobbled, are yours and are they replacing the cobbles? As V said, probably a different budget or scheme...... ;) ;)

I'm sure that on all the official documents relating to this, the back lanes are referred too as the 3.048 metre's!  ;)

Especially if the work is being funded by the EU!  ;D
