Part of my childhood TV watching through black and white days to colour.  He went to such exotic places, or if not that, ones that were extremely interesting.  I also particularly loved the fleating glimps of a VC10 at the start of one of his TV travel series :y :y :y :y :y

RIP Alan, you will be missed by my generation at least! :'( :'( :'(

If you're under 37 then it's quite possible, Mr Varche.

Back in the mists of time I was none too choosy what I copulated with. ;)

Umm that explains it. My Mum has a pathalogical hatred of goats(which I share - they ate Africa after all). I have a strange hairy growth on my chin which the doctors can't explain.)

I'll have to change my name by deed poll to Senor Varche Opti. It doesn't roll off the tongue but hey so long as I am written into the will for the Opti millions. ;D ;D ;D

:( Another childhood hero bites the dust, as a kid I thought he had a fabulous life ,which he probably did, considering this was the grim early 70s in Stockton upon tees (and still is a s**t hole) :-[
