Title: Problem with front passenger side electric window.
Post by: Field Marshal Dr. Opti on 18 July 2013, 19:54:06
It goes up and down perfectly using the switches on the drivers door. It will also close using the passenger door switch (go up), but for some reason will not open (go down). :-\

Any ideas chaps? :y ....Fuse perhaps?

Wont be fuse. Knackered switch perhaps ?

It works with the switches on the drivers door, so it seems the motor is working properly......so a 'donald' passenger door switch may be the culprit.

Is the switch easy to get at/repair/replace?

Just lever it out with a small screwdriver or similar and unplug the connector.Simple as that. As you say, motor is ok. Fuse must also be ok or drivers switch wouldn't be able to send power to the motor, which makes me think switch.Im far from expert on electrickery though,so don't just take my word for it.
If you do need a switch,I probably have a few. ;)

Can it be reached from the door pocket, and pushed out from the under side, rather than levering?

Or am I confusing this operation with a removed door card and working from the back? :-\

Had almost the same problem with my 95 omega. On mine it was one of the rear doors. Window would operate perfectly from switch by gearstick, but no reaction at all from switch in rear door. Turned out to be a couple of broken wires between door and body.

It's probably due to lack of use. ;)
