Title: Cheap track days near Watford?
Post by: SR-71Blackbird on 21 July 2013, 23:02:39
Hey all,

Anybody know if there are any cheapish track days near Watford? Not for my Omega but for my Camaro.

I had a look but some tracks are too far away and not on a weekend which would mean a day off work, not unthinkable though.

Bedford aerodrome. See Brands Hatch leisure web site.

Setterton. Dito. Probably cheapest at a guess. Not nearest though.

Rockingham as said. Not sure its the best choice in a car though...?

Silverstone. Not cheap. But awesome. ;)

Cracking circuit on a bike apparently...but most airfield circuits have a problem with gravel flicking up and peppering the car/bike.

They do sweet Fa.

They've been "set" to 40mph (at 10pm) I've blasted down at 85, get odd flash but nothing ever comes of it

I wouldn't want to do the oval in a road car, but the "International Super Sportscar Circuit" or "International Super Sportscar Long Circuit" would both be a great deal of fun - at least I found they were in the M3..

Be prepared for a new set of pads, though, it's very hard on them, especially in a big heavy car! ISSCL would be my choice if you can, it has some nice technical sections.

Haha I think the Camaro would do ok in the corners, 275s help with the cornering but yes straight line is its forte
