Title: Drivers seat dead (electrically)
Post by: albitz on 23 July 2013, 12:19:49
As above.Nothing, dead as a dodo. Have visually checked all fuses. All look ok. Tried 12v direct to the large red wire which enters the multi plug at the side of the seat, still nothing.Cant work it out. :-\

IIRC PedroMV6 had the same problem with his pick up conversion :-\

Think he binned it before it got sorted though :-\ certainly he tried the obvious... fuses/live feed

Does the drvers seat have its own ECU for memory purposes?

A suitable hex driver in a drill should see the seat out with minimal fuss, then you can investigate further :y

Does the Motor get hot when you put 12v to it, or you may be able to feel a very slight knock in it?, if so sounds like its jammed, take it you have checked for the normal £1 coin etc in the runners.

Sorted (kind off) It needed power to the thin red wire.Once I did that the seat worked fine.Doesnt matter why theres no power to the thin red wire,as its one the breaker and I just wanted to test the functions on the seat.
It all works fine,as do all 4 heaters - which is nice. :)
Thanks for the suggestions. :y

Look at guide to see what needs power for the ecu/motors to work :).  From memory, its 3 x 12v and 2 x 0v.

Heater is on its own plug.

Problem with testing heaters was that I had chopped through the looms behind all the switches when removing the dash wood trim. ;D
Wound all the wires round each other and tested them .All works fine.
Problem with drivers seat operation was probably also attributable to me chopping wires. Put 12v to the smaller red wire and ascertained that the seat all works ok. :y
